“I’ve worked alongside Henley Construction Management and their Restoration and Remedials division on several structurally complex schemes.
The works involved significant structural remediation and reconstruction and, from an engineering perspective, were far from straightforward. Henley’s team engaged constructively from the outset, demonstrating a clear understanding of the technical constraints and asking the right questions early.
On-site, the works were consistently well organised and managed. Risks were addressed proactively and, when challenges inevitably arose, they were handled with the experience and practical judgement needed to maintain progress.
Many of the schemes involved listed or historically sensitive buildings, where the objective was not simply structural remediation but doing so in a way that respected the historic fabric. In several cases, this meant agreeing testing regimes that allowed elements previously considered unsalvageable to be retained, or introducing discreet strengthening solutions rather than wholesale replacement.
Henley approached these projects collaboratively, working with us to develop solutions that satisfied both engineering requirements and programme demands.
Based on our experience, I would have no hesitation in working with Henley Construction Management and their Restoration and Remedials division again.”

Historic England

“As the representative responsible for ensuring the conservation quality of projects supported by Historic England, I’ve been particularly reassured by the approach taken at Phoenix Mills, Tileyard North, Wakefield. As the oldest surviving mill on the site, this building represents a key part of the city’s industrial heritage. From the outset, Henley Restoration and Remedials demonstrated a clear commitment to best practice in heritage restoration. The level of collaboration was strong throughout, and conservation decision-making consistently reflected a deep understanding of the site’s historic significance. This gave us full confidence that both the integrity of the building and our investment were in safe, expert hands. “

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Henley Restoration & Remedials on the recent restoration of the North-Eastern York War Memorial, a deeply meaningful project commemorating the brave souls lost in World War I and II. This Grade II-listed monument holds immense historical and emotional significance, and thanks to Henley’s expert guidance, it now stands once more with the dignity and pride it so rightly deserves. Their guidance and expertise throughout were invaluable, particularly given the complexities of working on a Grade II-listed structure. From the initial survey through to completion, they ensured all work was carried out in line with heritage and conservation guidelines. The quality of workmanship from their team was of a high standard, reflecting both care and attention to detail. Their involvement was a real asset to the wider project team. We appreciate their contribution and look forward to the opportunity to work together again on future heritage and infrastructure projects.”
